Using This Tool

  • Select cards to exclude
  • press a button for the type of query desired

Select (include) specific cards by clicking on that card (and it will highlight in yellow).

Select (include) cards, without regard for suit, by choosing the desired number of instances of that card from the menu.

Exclude specific cards by clicking on that card after clicking on the '^' (lower right) or using the Shift- or Ctrl- key to highlight the '^' (excluded cards highlighted in blue). In some contexts, the blue-card (chosen w/ '^' or Shift- or Ctrl-) is considered to be the Starter (Cut) Card.

Combos

Combos (combinations) was the original query for which I wrote this page. My goal was to input certain card combinations that would represent the starter card and the cards played, so far, by opponent in the pegging (I would also exlcude the cards that had been in my own hand).

The result of the query is the likelihood (percentage chance) of the opponent having a certain number of points. I wanted to get better at estimating my opponent's hand-value during the pegging so that I could gauge the number of points that I could afford to give him in an end-game pegging situation.

All Discards

A comparison of the 15 discard options available to the player ranking them by net points (for the player's own crib or when the opponent is the dealer).

Chart

Charts of the expected point value of the hand based on the hold, discard, and cards available to become the starter card.

DCH (Daily Cribbage Hand)

A method of searching the hands that have been discussed on Daily Cribbage Hand. These searches check for the exact hand and for other similar hands (swapping the 'ten cards' while maintaining the possibility of a flush) etc.

Subsequently, I also added links to C. Liam Brown's site for the specified hand.

This site is not affiliated with Daily Cribbage Hand or C. Liam Brown's site. I highly recommend both sites and I thank their authors for the inspiration they unwittingly provided me.

Score

A tool for explaining the score of the specified hand or crib.

CribbagePro

A launcher to allow the play, on the CribbagePro app, of the specified hand. Partially specified hands are supplemented, randomly, with other cards in the deck. If CribbagePro is not installed on the device from which this query is run, the query will fail.

War of 1812

War of 1812 is an end-game simulator in which the dealer needs 18 points and the pone needs 12 points. The links in this section will launch CribbagePro, if installed, at those score settings and with a random hand for the player. Good luck!

This site is not affiliated with CribbagePro; however, I have been a player on CribbagePro since, at least, 2013 and I highly recommend it. I play as 'dph' on the site.
