Scoring in ACC events

Here is a sample scorecard for a 9-game event (like a night of grassroots play).

  1. You have been randomly assigned to start the tournament in seat #4. Let's add your seat number to your score card.
  2. Now, add your name.
  3. If you have an ACC ID#, add that to your card too.
  4. Winning a game earns you 2 Game Points (3 Game Points if you won by skunk) and losing a game earns you zero points. You won the first game by 12 points.
  5. After each player has recorded the score on his card, the cards are exchanged and the opponent adds her initials (or name) and seat number as verification.
  6. You lost the second game by 8 points. Note that when the margin of win/loss is less than 10, a leading-zero is written.
  7. You won the third game by 35 points. Go ahead and fill out the Game 3 score line to reflect the outcome. When you have entered the correct information and pressed the button, your opponent will add his verification to the line.
  8. Games 4 through 9 are being auto-filled; next we will determine your total score for the tournament.
  9. Once all of the games have been played, players need to 'total' their scores. The areas within the red-dashed boxes must be filled-out; the areas within the green-dashed boxes are there to help players with their sub-totals.
  10. The sub-totals are complete, time to finalize this scorecard.
  11. Now, to fill in the totals at the top of the scorecard. (a) Game Points gets copied to the top. (b) The +Spread and -Spread are combined to create the Net Spread (this value is always given a leading '+' or '-'). (c) The number of games won is filled-in.
  12. That's all there is to the paperwork. Now turn in your scorecard and, hopefully, collect your prize.
